FAT - SKINNY SHAMING / SOCIETY SUCKS !

MORNING - JUST SAT HERE ON A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY MORNING PONDERING !!
and well -

Fat and Thin

- Why is there such a terrible stigma between the both ?

People immediately form opinions when they see a Fat person or a Skinny Person !
But then ....
People immediately form opinions when they see a Redhead or a Blondie !
People immediately form opinions when they see a Teenager or an Elderly Person !
People immediately form opinions when they see a Man or a Woman !
People immediately form opinions when they see a Beautiful person or a 'Normal' person !
People immediately form opinions when they see a Celebrity or a Person next door !
People immediately form opinions when they see an Effeminate guy !
People immediately form opinions when they see a Tattoo'ed, Short Haired Woman !

People immediately form opinions when they see a Labrador or a Rottweiler !!!!!

Stigma EVERYWHERE !! ...

FAT -
'I eat too much for whatever reason' - 'I have Genetic reason's for being Fat - My Family is Big Boned' - 'I have medical issues to why i am fat' - ' I don't have time to exercise ' - 'I have anxiety'

THIN -
'I eat too little for whatever reason' - 'I have genetic reason's for being thin - My family are all little' - 'I have medical reasons for being thin' - ' I exercise alot ' - 'I have anxiety' !!!!!!!

SO MANY REASONS !! = AND ALL THE SAME !!!

OK - We all know of the Health Issue - BUT -

Health also causes you to be Fat !! Think about that.
Heart disease and diabetes are usually thought to be problems for the overweight and the obese, but thin people aren't immune from these conditions,

Brain Tumors, Hypothyroidism ( Too little Thyroid ) Anxiety, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Extreme Tiredness ( All of which I have ! ) Plus - Diabetes, Steroid Treatments, Tiredness, Fluid retention, The list is endless

Certain medicines may also cause you to gain weight. These medicines could include some corticosteroids, antidepressants, and seizure medicines.

These medicines can slow the rate at which your body burns calories, increase your appetite, or cause your body to hold on to extra water. All of these factors can lead to weight gain.

Health also causes you to be Thin !! Think about that.

Coeliac disease, Crohn's disease, Ulcerative colitis. Hyperthyroidism ( Too much Thryoid ) Stress, Worms, Infections, Eating Disorders - Yet again - SO MANY THINGS CAN MAKE YOU THIN !

Sometimes medication may cause side-effects resulting in weight loss. For example, some pills may cause a loss of appetite, or a dry mouth. Some cause heartburn or give a mild tummy discomfort. Others may affect the sense of taste or smell, or make people feel sick. Any of these side-effects could affect eating habits and result in a loss of weight.

See what I mean - It's The same for everyone !!! 

Then there is the puzzle of dating - Fat verses Thin -
BUT - THAT'S DOWN TO INDIVIDUAL preference - SURELY !

I have Dated AS a Thinner person - and as a Fatter person
- and i must say -
as a Fat person - I am FAR FAR FAR MORE Picky -
Why - Mmmm -
I think I want to be 'comfortable' with my partner - and Not Used or appear 'easy' - as a thinner person - i presumed it was 'easy' to get a partner - but in fact - It's easy to get a partner whatever your size - and yes - from experience i can tell you that !! -
But - Being Fat - Im far far far more choosy - and so single - !!

Exercise - it's much easier for Thin people to get about - and thus maintain their shape -

BUT - Fat people CAN ( if there are no medical reasons why not )  - get about and 'do' !!! -

Fatties Can Exercise and stay healthy,

OK - Fat round the heart - that's NOT healthy in anyone's book -
Where is the individual fat distributed ??

With simple changes in diet - if wanted - Fat people CAN stay Fat and shed this Visceral fat ( Fat around the Heart, Lungs, Kidneys etc ) and it CAN be changed =

Scans of George Eastcote, who shed about 13% of his body weight and 34% of visceral fat

Simply by exercise and HEALTHY EATING - NOT dieting - Healthy eating !! -
On average, dieters can lose 5.6 per cent of  body weight - but a massive 10.6 per cent of visceral fat just by eating healthy foods - and on average - MOST fat people DO eat Healthy foods - ( Yeah I know then they stuff themselves with Junk !! THAT'S THE PROBLEM !! )
OK OK - less Medical Fact and more of the differences -

OH WOW - OK - SO - I've come up with Aa few things - and - ermmm - i think that's it - so the difference between FAT AND THIN really boils down to Health and/or Men/Womens individual preference !!

THAT'S TERRIBLE !!!!!

The health one i totally get - To be a 'decent' weight - is obviously healthier than being FAT - But

The Personnel Desire Option - How weak and shallow are we Humans !!!
Surely it's about what's inside !!
But still we all ( and yes i do mean ALL - Because even I have an inkling towards a particular type - and if that 'type' isn't met - then i tend to go 'off' that personage very quickly - if i speak to them at all - and even i think i'm shallow - so go on - shout at me !! ) tend to identify far better with 'people' men and women if they fit the 'normal' spectrum -

arrrrrrr but saying that

People who are FAT are seemingly more Happy and Chirpier than Thin individuals - and so - people are drawn towards a happy smiling face - and yet - Happy and smiling yet USUALLY unhappy on the inside - you don't often find a Happy / Cheery / CONFIDENT / and POSITIVE FAT person !!
( Hence the Body Positivity Movement !! ) But

SKINNY people can be deeply affected by the 'look' and their stature - so - Ohhh - Is it the same for BOTH PARTIES ??!!

Even some Thin people get told regularly that they are toooooo thin and unhealthy !! 'Are you ill' - 'do you need to see a doctor' - 'your not eating enough' - 'you look dreadful !' ..... 'You are evil' ...... 'Cor i'd like to have your problem'

FAT OR THIN - WE CAN'T WIN !! -

When i was a 'normal' size ( Size 12 ) - I was told - 'You look Gaunt' - 'You look pale' - 'You look tired' - 'You look like a boy' - 'Ohh i wish i was your size' ..... lol



THEN I GOT FAT due to Illness ....



When i put on weight ( Alot of weight due to a Brain Tumor ) ( size 30 ) - I was / am told - 'Fatty' - 'You should lose weight - that's not good to be that big' - 'Have you seen a doctor' - 'You eat to much' - 'Try going on a diet and doing more exercise' .....

IT GOES ON AND ON !!

So the answer -

BE AT ONE WITH WHO YOU ARE
FAT OR THIN
SMILE AND BE HAPPY !!

I would say it is better to be Fat and Healthy than Thin and Unfit !! -
Personally I prefer who I am NOW ( Being size 30 and ill )
I am actually far more 'at one with myself' NOW than when i was Fit and Thin and 'healthy' -
When I was Thinner I was not being myself - and 'acted' for the crowd - Saying what people wanted to hear - or 'trying' to fit in ....

Now - I don't care what people think - I know I am a nice person -
and actually I would like 'me' to be my friend -
I would do and try to help and i'm a better person for being 'at one' with who i am,
People would be Lucky for me to be in their lives - and if they think differently BECAUSE I AM FAT - Then so be it - THEY ARE THE ONES LOSING OUT - NOT ME  !

but then, that is Skinny Shaming is it not - Now i'm doing it ! - because -

A Thinner person can be totally 'in tune' and happy with themselves ............

WHY DO WE HAVE TO JUSTIFY OURSELVES TO OTHERS !!!!

Because society TELLS us we do ! -

If we are Fat we are WRONG
If we are Thin we are WRONG
If we are Tall we are WRONG
If we are Short we are WRONG
If we are Black we are WRONG
If we are White we are WRONG
If we have Spots we are WRONG
If we have a clear skin and flawless - we are WRONG

THE LIST IS ENDLESS AND EVER GOING !

I even have issues on 'Names' - I would prefer to go out with an 'Oliver' 'Max' or 'Ben'

Than a 'Trevor' 'Norbert' or a 'Neville' - and ohh my word - how stigmatic is that !!

We HAVE to learn we can not please all of the people all of the time !

And remember - that EVERYONE - AND THAT IS EVERYONE barr NONE - would change at least one thing about themselves, if they are perfectly honest - so

SOCIETY HAS TO CHANGE !!
IT HAS TO GROW - AS WE DO !
SOCIETY HAS TO ACCEPT THAT PEOPLE ARE INDIVIDUAL

AND

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT
AND IT IS BETTER TO BE DIFFERENT
THAN FOR EVERYONE TO BE THE SAME !!

EVERYBODY SUFFERS FROM STIGMA AT SOMETIME IN THEIR LIFE

GET USED TO IT !!

GET A BACKBONE

LEARN TO IGNORE !!



AND TO EVERYONE WHO PRE-JUDGES -
IT SAYS ALOT MORE ABOUT YOU
THAN IT DOES ABOUT THEM !!
